I started my journey in 1992. I did my medical internship at King Edward Hospital in Durban . In 1993 I started working as a general practitioner in Newcastle as the first female medical doctor in the area.
It was during this period that I was exposed to the need for mental health specialised services. I am a founding member of an NGO called Christians against child abuse .
We visit preschools and primary schools, educating them about child sexual abuse.

Newcastle and the whole of northern natal had only one non- South African specialist. In 1999, I went back to KEH where I joined the department of paediatrics (I had always thought I would specialise in paediatrics) .
I obtained a diploma in child health in 1999 from the college of Paediatricians South Africa.
In 2000, I went back to private practice for social re asons.
In 2004, after much consideration I accepted a post to train as a psychiatrist at Nelson Mandela school of medicine.
I obtained FCPsych in 2008 from the college of psychiatrist.

Educating the nation via media School mental health - educating the educators and learners I offer the following services
1. Consultation and prescribing medication where necessary I believe in a multidisciplinary approach towards mental where I work closely with psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists.

The frequency of mental illnes together with new research and innovation ensures that our field of specialty plays an increasingly important role in medicine and society.

Her specialty (Psychiatry) is a branch of medicine focused on the diagnosis, tratment and prevention of menta, emotional and behavioral disorders.

"While you are a patient in hospital, you cannot be forced to stay if you want to leave. Your treating doctor in the hospital usually makes a dicision about when you will be discharged and the dicision is generally made for medical reasons."
